Fellowship
A Coffee Hour generally follows the Sunday 10:30 service, where we gather to greet one another. The food is always as good as the conversation. Fellowship events, organized by our Fellowship Committee throughout the year, bring people together of all ages. Fall events focus on Potluck Lunches after select Sunday 10:30 am services. In late November and early December we schedule Advent activities such as wreath making and crafting of Jesse tree ornaments. After Christmas the “Three Kings” wind their way through parish homes, arriving at the church on Epiphany Sunday.
We plan an outdoor skating party for January. Since the weather has gotten in the way the past few years…too snowy or too warm, we plan to announce a “pop-up” skating party for any day it looks good!
A Shrove Tuesday pancake supper marks the beginning of Lent.
The Easter Vigil service traditionally ends with a champagne and chocolate reception. After Easter we focus on preparations for the Peasant Market that is held the Saturday following July 4th.
In early spring the committees form for our annual Peasant Market that is held the Saturday after 4th of July. Peasant Market is our main fundraiser for outreach grants and a wonderful way to work with each other toward a common goal.
In the Fall we sign up for a new round of Foyers. Foyer groups are small gatherings of about eight to ten people, both singles and couples, who meet informally once a month for a simple meal and fellowship (usually at each other’s homes). The commitment is for a four- to five-month cycle, with each household taking a turn hosting at their home. This year we will have Zoom Foyer groups! Contact Paul Horn for more information.
College students enrich our parish life. They participate in worship by ushering, reading lessons, and sharing their musical talents. Their energy and perspective are invaluable in our ministries. In the fall we welcome all college students to share a meal and develop connections with the congregation.
