News From the Pews

By Linda Horn

Major birthday news from Adele Piece.  She  celebrated her 99th birthday on November 13th.  For she is a jolly good fellow!  She now lives in Shelburne.  Contact the office for her address if you would like to send her a card.

December is full Parish birthdays.  Here are some I know.  Ben Anderson-Ray December 11, Ann Cooper December 12, Avery Horn December 13, Linda Horn December 14, Clayton Duclos December 16, An Duclos December 29.  I am sure I am missing some people--sorry! Send me your news!

Barb Wood says we will soon have two wreaths in the usual spots on the wall behind the altar as as Poinsettias on the shelf.  If anyone would like to donate to the flower fund of Christmas flowers in thanksgiving for or in memory of someone, please send a check and names to the church by December 18th.

Saint Lucia Day is coming up. (Cue music in your head!) Jim Pugh let’s us know the following.  For Swedes and for those who need their annual Saint Lucia fix, the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis is having a Saint Lucia Celebration Concert on Sunday, December 13 at 2:00 pm (1:00 pm Central Time).  It will be held on Zoom.  The cost is $10 per connection. For information, go to: VIRTUAL Lucia Celebration Concert | American Swedish Institute (asimn.org)

Jim also says that if you would like to see a 10-minute recap of the hymn contest, it is available at: https://youtu.be/m79KFEW_eWk

One thing I noticed at the pounding was that a lot of us have partial or total alternative fuel vehicles. Among those are Sharon Tierra and Glenn Fulop, Cathy Walsh, Ann Cooper, and Linda and Paul Horn in the hybrid category.  In the electric category are Ben and Susan Anderson-Ray and Mike and Beth Davis.  It seems to me there were a lot of others, but that is a start.
